Its Valentines Day Week and everyone is scrambling to find the perfect red flowers, chocolate covered confections or sparkling gifties for their loved one…or they are looking for something to do with single friends on a night where everyone seems to be in love.

But let’s take a second to remember the thing we all have in common…beautiful clothes and fancy parties. Ahhhh…I thought that would bring us all together again.

TOOTSIES, as part of their one year anniversary at West Ave celebration, hosted the Love’s in Fashion event this Valentines Day Eve. It was a Spring/Summer 2012 collection preview with a twist, professional models and a fun mix of Houston’s big names in business, fashion and philanthropy. Now don’t think all the hullabaloo was just for our enjoyment, proceeds went to benefit the 25th Anniversary Art Car Parade, the largest art car parade in the world, hosted by The Orange Show Center for Visionary Art. Art Car Weekend is the Orange Show’s biggest outreach program, “A vehicle for the message that art is an integral part of everyone’s everyday life.”

The professional models were decked out in ultimate Hollywood Glam meets Victoria’s Secret vavavoom for their runway walks. Ruby red lips and cat eyes by Hard Liner Image and Megan London Makeup Artistry matched beautifully with the voluminous Brigitte Bardot hair by Kharisma Hair Studio. Guest model’s hair and makeup, thanks to The Do Bar, flawlessly brought out their natural beauty, as they took their walks in TOOTSIES Spring/Summer 2012 pieces escorted by their equally snazzy other halves in their Q Custom Clothier and Rye 51 duds.

For those in the fashion industry forced to watch pro models strut day in and day out, it was a fun treat to see the great personalities come down the runway to lighten the mood. Couples included Houston faves Dominique Sachse & Nick Florescu, Becca & John Cason Thrash, Pam Morse & Dan Pastorini, Mimi & Robert Del Grande and Joyce & Hugh Echols. Guests were free to cheer on their faves and guest models had no problem interrupting their walks to stop and say hi.

The rest of the evening was full of shopping, sipping on drinks and snacking on apps provided by Katsuya of Los Angeles and soon to be of Houston. A great event perfect for kicking off this week of love.
